rejected poem for v-day house activity [Feb. 12th, 2006|06:17 pm]
Who is St. Valentine? What did he do?
Nothing for me, and nothing for you!
But you don't want a cow heart all wrapped up in gauze,
So here's a nice flower to put in a vase.

about the Rolling Stones' Superbowl performance, courtesy of aol.com, my news connection to the outside world.
In "Start Me Up," the show's editors silenced one word, a reference to a woman's sexual sway over a dead man.

which sounds like:

You make a dead man
admire your method of exercising agency
as a strategy for reversing the uneven balance of power
inherent in a patriarchial gender-biased society
up to and including the private sphere
of intimate relationships
Oh yeah

Ok, I dunno if this livejournal thing is working for me. Although I love keeping in touch with people, I'm still a private person who gets anxiousty about posting her thoughts and/or having long self-discussions about hwhat this whole thing is for. Is going to take a break for a while and see how this works. Maybe later, photos from my new camera, yes? Ah. Being twenty-four is a riot.

Going to Elkins, New Hampshire, where they have lots and lots of trees but no ocean. When I get back, I'll be twenty-four. Weird.

To anyone I know who has an Amazon.com seller account- this email is circulating asking for your ATM PIN number and credit card information. Don't answer it! It's fake.

"Greetings from Amazon Payments.

Your bank has contacted us regarding some attempts of charges from your credit card via the Amazon system. We have reasons to believe that you changed your registration information or that someone else has unauthorized access to your Amazon account Due to recent activity, including possible unauthorized listings placed on your account, we will require a second confirmation of your identity with us in order to allow us to investigate this matter further..."

[music |devils and dust, again]

1) Walking to Whole Foods today I looked up, up, and saw a marsh hawk overhead. The only lucky sign I know. Last May, on the day I finally broke out of this place a week and two days late, a redtail swooped right over me. Maybe it's my grandmother.
2) The Ritalin is working. Really I just needed to reduce the dosage a little. This is better than good, because without it I can't write a history paper to save my life, and I have three of them, and I can't stay here with a GPA under 3.
